Meet Michi
Michael Jakob (“Michi”) is the former Global Head of Emerging Markets Loan Syndicate (ex-Apac) at Credit Suisse. He has a long-standing track record of syndicating risk, particularly in Global Emerging Markets. During his tenure at Credit Suisse, he managed the desks in New York and London responsible for all Latam and CEEMEA private debt distribution for Credit Suisse’ Global Financing Group, placing a yearly deal volume of $5BN to $10BN. Michi started his career at Deutsche Bank where he held various positions in Frankfurt and New York
Michi was born in Germany and after stops around the globe he settled in Manhattan in 1997. He has been married for over 25 years to his wife Melanie with whom he has 3 children and 2 English labs. Michi spends his time between New York City and the Hudson Valley.
Fluent in German, Spanish and English Michi has lived, studied, or worked in Germany, USA, Canada, England, Costa Rica, Argentina, Indonesia, and Spain. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Trent University, Canada and an MPhil from The University of Cambridge (Cambridge Judge Business School) and is an alumnus of AFS International (Germany to Costa Rica).
Outside of running his business and supporting his clients, Michi finds balance in clowning (IG @theclownonwallstreet) , yoga, cycling and is a self-declared pyromaniac who loves bonfires and open fire cooking. Passionate about humanitarian Issues and a deep conviction about “Giving Back”, he serves on the Board of Directors of Clowns Without Borders USA www.clownswithoutborders.org and the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus www.bindlestiff.org
